Thomas M. HarrisThomas M. Harris, a St. Petersburg native, is a graduate of the University of Florida and received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida College of Law. Mr. Harris was Board Certified by The Florida Bar in the area of Real Property Law. He has served as Chairman of the Governmental Litigation of Land Use Committee of the Real Property Section of The Florida Bar and on the steering committee for publication of Florida Real Property Sales Transactions. Mr. Harris has lectured on real property litigation for The Florida Bar and as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Stetson College of Law. Mr. Harris has rewritten two chapters of the Florida Bar's book on Real Property Litigation and is a contributing author to the American Bar Association Second Edition of Land Surveys, copyright in 2000. For eight years Mr. Harris presided as Chairman of the Board of Pilot Commissioners for the Port of St. Petersburg. Since 1981 he has served as a special master of the Pinellas County Property Appraisal Adjustment Board. Mr. Harris was Chairman of the Board, for what is now Mercantile Bank. He is past president of the Treasure Island Chamber of Commerce, St. Petersburg Police Athletic Club, St. Petersburg Quarterback Club, Phi Delta Theta Alumni Association of St. Petersburg, and trustee of Admiral Farragut Academy for over 30 years. He was ordained as a minister by the Gospel Center Church in 1985 and has served as a Chaplain and Minister until he was called into full service gospel ministry with Woodlawn Baptist Church in 1997.
